Kuwait Int’l Quran Contest Held at High Level

QuraniSpeaking to IQNA upon his arrival at Imam Khomeini (RA) International Airport on Saturday morning, Ebrahim Fallah Tabasom Chehreh said the contest was organized very well but people’s reception of the event was not that good.

Tabasom Chehreh, who came third in the recitation category of Kuwait’s international Quranic event, was welcomed at the airport by a number of Quranic officials from the Supreme Quran Council and the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.

He told IQNA that there were very good Qaris at the contest, including those from Iraq and Turkey.

The Iranian reciter said one of the challenges he faced at the competition was that he was not fully familiar with the regulations and the scoring procedures.

Tabasom Chehreh, however, said he was happy not to have returned home without winning a title.

He suggested that the regulations of Kuwait’s Quran competition be translated into Persian and given to those representing Iran in the future editions.

Elsewhere, Tabasom Chehreh referred to the Kuwaiti people’s interest in recitations of Iranian Qaris and said wherever he went, people would ask him to recite verses from the Quran.

Kuwait’s 7th International Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition was held in the capital, Kuwait City, on April 13-20.
